Introduction:
Most of us are unprepared for the shock and aftermath of losing our jobs due to a layoff, management turnover, or corporate transformation/restructuring. When I experienced such events, I could only rely on my family, friends, and just enough grit to move beyond those challenging times. However, what if we had access to a nonjudgmental, unbiased, trusted partner not just to help us get another job but to attain the career that best aligns with our skills, priorities, and professional goals?
To honor the people who believed in me and encouraged me throughout my STEM career, I am paying it forward by offering 4 x 1-hour career coaching sessions for nearly free. I accept up to two (2) new clients per month and the requirements are simple:
- You have been laid off for less than six (6) months.
- You have a background in STEM, worked in a STEM function, or worked for a STEM company.
- As a STEM leader, you managed people, teams, or organizations.
Sessions focus on you developing impactful insights, strategies, and plans related to your professional life (see below).
Benefits of Career Coaching:
- At the end of our four (4) sessions, you will know what matters most and what you want to achieve from your next career move. You will gain deeper insights, change perspectives, establish clarity, align priorities, remove the noise, and overcome limitations. I move at your pace and will partner with you to accomplish some, all, or even more than these objectives.
- Based on this information, you will then define your vision and develop the milestones to achieve your goals.
- We choose to work together, allowing a great fit to yield great results, and every aspect of our engagement remains strictly confidential.
- Some organizations provide tactical career coaching and/or outplacement services focused more on the job search processes, such as developing a strong resume or strategies to leverage your network. My coaching focuses on addressing behaviors or ideas that hold you back, creating a positive forward-looking attitude, developing grit, and improving your leadership skills.
Details:
- Price is $1/session. The nominal fee establishes our professional coaching relationship.
- During a follow-up call, we will finalize the terms, development goals, and desired outcomes before signing the contract.
- Sessions are 1-hour long and held on the same weekday and time over a period of four (4) to a maximum of six (6) weeks.
- Sessions are conducted using a teleconference application, such as Zoom.
